Reading
Here I keep track of what I’m reading and what I’m planning to read.
There’s more info on my Goodreads,
though starting January 2026 I’m not updating that anymore.
Last updated: January 17th, 2026. Previous version.
Currently reading
Audiobooks
Just finished The Shadow of What Was Lost. What an ending. Now
continuing with Wool, and enjoying it, but I’m really missing Michael
Kramer’s voice. He has quite a way of changing his voice to suit
characters, I’m really impressed.
E-books
Reading In Onze Tijd by Tim Fransen on my e-reader. On my phone I
stumbled into The Castle by Kafka. Both are tough reads in their own
way. On my tablet I’m reading, very slowly, The Comfort Crisis. The nice
thing about it is that it still makes sense and is enjoyable even after
not reading it for a month.
Dead-tree copies
Beren op de Weg, Spinsels in je Hoofd.
Plans
These books are already in my (electronic) bookcase, and I’m actively
considering to read them next. While it might take me a few years to get
to them, it’s extremely rare for books to get kicked off this list.
If I told you I was going to read a certain book, and it’s not on
this list, I owe you a hot or cold beverage of your choice 😉.
In no particular order:
- The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read
- Frege Explained
- The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet
- De Foundation en het Imperium
- Prince of Milk
- The Chosen by Chaim Potok.
- What We Can Know
- Lessons
- Openbaring
- Isles of Emberdark. I accidentally got the fancy hardcover edition.
What a treat!
- The Whispering Dark
- An Echo of Things To Come (Licanius, book 2). Listening to book 1
was such a great experience because of the narrator. But, the book also
requires really paying attention, and going back a few paragraphs or
even a few pages doesn’t work well for an audiobook. So not sure yet if
I’ll listen to this one.
- Blood of the Chosen (Burningblade & Silvereye, book 2)
