Reading Here I keep track of what I’m reading and what I’m planning to read. There’s more info on my Goodreads, though starting January 2026 I’m not updating it anymore. Last updated: June 28th, 2026. Previous version. Currently reading Audiobooks Listening to Shift by Hugh Howey. About 3 hours in now, it’s getting pretty interesting. E-books Still reading The Castle by Kafka on my phone. The Comfort Crisis on my tablet, though my tablet has been lingering on my desk, turned off because I haven’t been using it a lot lately. I think I’ll get a proper epub at some point and finish it on my e-reader, it’s a pretty interesting book. On my e-reader I’m back to making steady progress on Frege Explained by Joan Weiner. I’ve also briefly switched it up by finishing “A New Tale” on my e-reader. Oh, and I read the first few chapters of Vainqueur the Dragon when my brain wasn’t feeling up to reading about Frege. I’ll probably focus on that one once I finish Frege Explained, it’s a bit on the nose but a lot of fun nevertheless. Sometimes you just want a snack and shouldn’t think too much about eating one! Dead-tree copies Finished Beren op de Weg, Spinsels in je Hoofd a while ago! As I predicted, there were only a few short pages left. It was a dry but good read. I think I’ll read “Het Levende Systeem” next. Plans These books are already in my (electronic) bookcase, and I’m actively considering to read them next. While it might take me a few years to get to them, it’s extremely rare for books to get kicked off this list. If I have told you I am going to read a certain book, and it’s not on this list, I owe you a hot or cold beverage of your choice 😉. In no particular order: - The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read (dead-tree copy) - The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (dead-tree copy) - De Foundation en het Imperium (dead-tree copy) - Prince of Milk (probably e-book?) - The Chosen by Chaim Potok (dead-tree copy) - What We Can Know (dead-tree copy) - Lessons (dead-tree copy) - Openbaring (dead-tree copy) - Isles of Emberdark. I accidentally got the fancy hardcover edition. What a treat! - The Whispering Dark (dead-tree copy) - Blood of the Chosen (Burningblade & Silvereye, book 2, probably e-book) - Babel by R.F. Kuang (dead-tree copy) - Katabasis by R.F. Kuang (dead-tree copy) - Infinity Gate - Roest by Jasper Polane (dead-tree copy) Reading-related blog posts - Books of 2025 Log 2026 - 2026-06-26: A New Tale by Eveline Koster - 2026-06-16: Beren op de Weg, Spinsels in je Hoofd by Theo IJzermans and Coen Dirckx - 2026-05-09: In Onze Tijd by Tim Fransen - 2026-04-29: An Echo of Things to Come (Licanius, #2) by James Islington (narrated by Michael Kramer) - 2026-02-12: Wool by Hugh Howey (narrated by Edoardo Ballerini) - 2026-01-17: The Shadow of What Was Lost (Licanius, #1) by James Islington - 2026-01-04: De vreemdeling by Albert Camus - 2026-01-02: Ashes of the Sun (Burningblade & Silvereye, #1) by Django Wexler 2025 - 2025-12-07: The Game Master’s Handbook of Proactive Roleplaying by Jonah Fishel and Tristan Fishel - 2025-10-31: The Fifth Science by Exurb1a - 2025-10-05: Foundation by Isaac Asimov - 2025-08-30: Shampoo by Bert Moerman - 2025-08-28: Tales from the Cafe: Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi - 2025-02-15: Skyward by Brandon Sanderson - 2025-02-01: Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir - 2025-01-12: The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix - 2025-01-09: Wind and Truth by Brandon Sanderson - 2025-01-05: White Sand by Brandon Sanderson 2024 - 2024-11-01: Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson - 2024-10-30: The Pale Dreamer by Samantha Shannon - 2024-10-03: Blood Over Bright Haven by M.L.
